So it’s nearly time for CHAPTER 28: PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE LET ME GET WHAT I WANT. We make our third trip to Manchester this Sunday to our Northern home – The Ritz – and we cannot be any more excited. Here’s a few tips for you if you’re new to PROGRESS…
THERE WILL BE VERY LIMITED STANDING TICKETS AVAILABLE ON THE DOOR FOR £12, SO IF YOU DON’T HAVE A TICKET YET YOU CAN STILL COME ALONG, JUST GET THERE EARLY! IF YOU DON’T WANT TO RISK IT, YOU CAN STILL BUY A STANDING TICKET IN ADVANCE (THAT’S ALL WE HAVE LEFT) BY CLICKING HERE.
The venue address is: The O2 Ritz, Whitworth Street West, Manchester M1 5NQ.
Doors open at 1pm, and the show starts at 3pm. We should be finished between 6.30 and 7pm.
Parking on the streets nearby is limited, but there is a NCP Multi-Storey car park just around the corner on Chepstow Street.
Manchester Oxford Road Station is a couple of minutes walk from the venue.
Because we’ve used our new Ticket Tailor hub for selling some of the tickets for this show, please ensure that you read this information below. Wherever possible, a PRINTED version of your e-ticket is preferred (as we can scan them) but if you don’t have a printer, having it on your smartphone is fine. So:
If you purchased your ticket via TICKETMASTER, bring your e-ticket.
If you purchased your ticket via OUR NEW TICKET HUB, bring your e-ticket.
If you purchased your ticket via PayPal BEFORE we introduced the new ticket hub, then bring your PayPal receipt.
Also it’s worth bringing some ID with you as well just to ensure everything goes extra smoothly.
Seats are unreserved. You’ll be issued a wristband corresponding to the category of ticket that you have bought. See the seating plan at the bottom of this post so you can have an idea where your ticket is. Once you get in you can sit in your allocated area, with seats first come first served within each zone.
Standing tickets – you can stand near each bar or up on the balcony. Everywhere in the venue should have a pretty decent view.
DO NOT BUY TICKETS FROM TOUTS OUTSIDE. Because we do all of our ticket selling ourselves, the only way to get in is with your PayPal receipt.
There are seven matches on the show; four in the first half, three in the second half. The full card is available here.
You’re fine to take photographs of the action, but please try not to use flash photography and PLEASE do not film the matches. That’s what DEMAND PROGRESS is for!
Barring any massive technical hitches, we should have the show up on-line to watch within a week.
We’ll have a selection of our merchandise on sale, as well as various members of our roster selling their own merch. We accept both cash and card payments.
HERE’S THE MOST IMPORTANT BIT:
If this is your first PROGRESS experience or your twenty eighth, YOU are a huge part of what we do. Our shows have the best atmosphere and we want to keep that going up in Manchester. So make tons of noise, get drunk, enjoy yourself! This will be the best Sunday afternoon you’ve had in AGES.
Of course, though, do remember the one golden rule of PROGRESS:
DON’T BE A DICK!
Be respectful of the wrestlers and the other fans and have a bloody smashing time. WE ARE SO EXCITED!
See you all on Sunday,
Jim, Jon and Glen
This. Is. PROGRESS.
